This is the SECOND video in a 3-part miniseries that we’re doing on Kickstarter rewards. If you’ve not yet seen the first video in which I reveal how to use Kickstarter rewards for a massive day one, be sure to check that out first!
In this video, I discuss rewards strategy and share some Kickstarter page layout tips that will help you convert more traffic and increase your profitability.
The first strategy is to see things through the eyes of a customer. This means limiting the number of products while ensuring that there is variation. The main thing you want to avoid here is presenting too many options for the customer, which may cause them to get confused and simply leave the page.
Something else to think about when it comes to your Kickstarter page design and rewards packages is how to handle multiple products. What I’ve found is that offering more than one main product tends to confuse the customer. Therefore, it’s best to present one MAIN product, and offer additional products or Kickstarter rewards as accessories.
You also want to make sure that the rewards you offer are priced high enough that they will allow you to reach your goals. Price stacking can be a useful way to get customers to spend more. The idea behind price stacking is to offer customers increasing levels of value as they spend more.
By thinking about your Kickstarter page design and rewards packages through the eyes of your customer, you can avoid overwhelming them, thereby avoiding lost sales. Keep these strategies in mind as you design your Kickstarter rewards and you’ll not only retain your backers, you’ll also motivate them to buy more.
